Running Because I'm Scared (Requiem) horror-themed infinite runner that I developed mostly over the course of a weekend with a friend in Unreal 5. The idea was simple: create an infinite runner that is both more challenging and stressful than others in the genre. We hoped to accomplish this mostly with one key mechanic - you must turn around in order to repel the monster chasing you to survive.
Some features in the game include:
- Spooky retro horror aesthetic
- Music that increases in intensity the closer you are to losing
- Scaling difficulty over time
- Checkpoints where you can obtain upgrades
- Over a dozen level unique level segements
